Default Dilema

ok here's the deal after riding my 94 f2 around for the past 6 years i finally got the dough to move up only thing i'am torn between 2 bikes either a blackbird or a 954 i mostly ride to work (bout 80 miles both ways) i like the the bird because from what ive heard its as comfy as my f2 and has loads of power the only down side to it is its heavy as hell so i imagine cornering would be somewhat of a hassle compared to my feather weight 600 and also the brakes the smart brake system that uses front and rear at all times? i dont know about that.........i like the 954 has all the power ill ever need but seems like a passenger is out of the question and if it sits anything like the 929 i rode awhile back its pretty uncomfortable. any thoughts?

I have had a 2004 f4i, guessing thats close to your f2. I have never ridden a f2. I just bought a 954 about a month and 1/2 ago. I love the thing. Even if I do get another bike in the future the 954 will be going nowhere. I guess you have to get the opinion of some blackbird owners. I have only ridden a friends once for about 30 miles. I liked the power but it is a heavy bike. He moved from that to a Busa, so that shows what type bike he likes. Personally I say go 954. Quick, sexy, light, great cornering, breaking. Passengers are not out of the question either as long as they aren't huge(HA). If you use it for work and back mostly, then whats the difference? 954!!!

I think my 929 and 954 are both pretty comfy for me and a passanger. Maybe get the 954 and some Heli bars to up your riding position

i would say the 954. buddy of mine has one and i rode it a few times and its a nice ride, not as good at my 600 but still a nice ride. very powerful and smooth responce n very easy to ride IMO. cant go wrong with either choice. best bet would be ride both bikes for a bit and see what one feels better

Blackbird = sport touring, and it sounds like thats what your doing. it will be way more comfortable then the 954 and blackbirds are sweet.

the 954 is an awesome bike. Go sit on both of them and pick for yourself but the weight of the blackbird wont be an issue on the highway where 90% of your riding takes place.

how about a honda vfr.... i would assume that it is a bit lighter than the blackbird but still have good ergo's, though it may be a bit lacking as far as power compared to the other two i always thought it was a great looking bike (especially with the one sided swing arm)

i am 6'2 220lbs. I just got back from sitting on a blackbird and a 954. It's 15 degrees outside so I can't ride them. I know what you mean. I think the 954 is pretty comfy. The 954 looks ok for a passenger. The blackbird as I explained to my girlfriend is the goldwing of CBR's. I am leaning more toward the 954 myself but if I were you riding towork everyday I would get the blackbird.
