Nope, this one isn't for the hunters, it's a warning thread for all of us. Those furry bastards are coming into "rut", and for those of you who don't know what that means...it means they are all thinking with their sex parts and running all over creation. I almost got one on three different occasions last night. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE GUYS/GIRLS! Stay very alert, not just at dusk/nighttime, but in the broad daylight too. Trust me, it ain't fun hitting one of these bastards, I got put in the hospital two years ago because of a mc v/s deer collision...took two surgeries and almost $30k to get me right (thank god for health insurance). Again, keep your eyes open and your concentration on the ride...and remember, if you see ONE, there are almost certainly a few more hiding...sumbitches travel in herds, and they are a lot more solid than you realize, even the little ones.

I live in a town thats not really really big, there are alot of wooded area's, and this one dummy lives right on the side of the hwy and he feeds the damn things. No word of a lie, at times there are HUNDREDS, yes hundreds of deer on his property. Im all for mother nature and people who like to watch deer or birds or any kind of animal for that matter, but this dumb Fu$&er is gonna get someone killed, there have been so many incidents of people hitting deer on that hwy its crazy!

Deer are a serious issue for us as well. We were out on a group ride today and had all kinds of things to deal with, including yellow lab that decided the double yellow was a good place to sit down.

You ain't kidding Jay, it is some scary ****. Especially when it spits you off over the bars and you know the bike is catching up to you as you slide down the road.
on a lighter note, we're close enough, we should hook up and ride some time. I'm not a knee-dragger, but I've been known to keep a fairly brisk pace

Yea lots of deer around here too, always covering the brake. Even though not for the hunters, i plan to help by taking down 2 this year again.

I have never hit one on my bike but when I bought my first bike 2 years ago I was trailering it home from minnesota and nailed a bambi with my truck going about 80 on I35. I seen the lil guy sliding on his back outside my driver side window beside me for a good 100 yards. I couldn't help but laugh. Some beach cost me 400 bucks tho to fix the truck.

Yeah, tis the season! I took a long ride saturday while we had a lil heatwave, and deer were my biggest concern as always. I'll be doing my share to take a couple down this season at my ol mans place.
