Thank you for your service to our country and my appreciation, thoughts, and prayers go out to your daughter for her service. My boy is half way through basic at this very moment in the Air Force and looking forward to his future ... I can't even imagine the roller coaster you are on ... but I have a feeling it'll hit me soon enough.

Got to chat a bit tonite with the little hard ***. Al Qaeda teams been hitting the FOB's hourly today-tonite. Little effect aginst the SOCOM teams. But still a pain in the ***. Not much I can do from here. But I sai what I could and came to mind.
"Soldiers do things that other people "CAN'T" and "WON'T"... That's why it's called service. Love you, little one. Do great things, be safe, good hunting. It's patriot's day. Remember why soldiers do what we do. I'm more proud of you than words can say, g'nite love."

Thanks Shadow, and the rest of you. She's a PFC in a Spec Ops world. I had 4 years in the Infantry, recon and sniper teams before I made that move ( my fault again, She wanted Blood Wings and I got her into the Spec Ops comunity with a few phone calls to old friends). Kid is hanging pretty well, first time the took small arms fire she froze like a deer in headlights (I owe the NCO from the 3rd SF A-team she was with a beer for knocking her *** down and emptying his magizine). But that that does not kill us.... She's learning. I bust on her alot with her being MI. I tell her "no mistakes, pay attention to detail. Bad intel kills soldiers, don't let that be on your head." I have to balance being a dad and former SpecOps NCO.
