Default Cruisin' Tunes?

One of the downsides of being on a sportbike is the radio. I don't ever use headphones bcuz I don't want to further impair my ability to watch and listen to traffic around me, but I have seen some guys who wear headphones while they ride. I'm just curious what the people on this forum do or think about the issue of riding with headphones?

if i could get a set of earphones that would stay still when i put the helmet on and sounded good while on the move i might try it, but realisticly i tried ear plugs to help ease any damge in later life and found that they made it harder to concentrate, so it aint gonna happen riding comes first tunes................ last

I used to wear headphones when i rode my Rebel, but not since i got my CBR.
I like to listen to my music loud, but not too loud when riding my bike.
For me it never really impaired my ability to hear and see what was going on around me. I could always hear other cars tires and engines and stuff over the headphones.

Keep in mind that most states it's illegal to ride with head-phones on, but I have done it on long rides also. Anubis, the best ear phones are the ones that clip on your ewar and have the earbud attached. I finally found those to he best and most comfortable when you slip on your helmet.

Plug the MP3 player in the communication port on long rides, lets me and the lady ride in style. Never around in the cities though.

I find music actually improves my ability to focus not hinder it. I ride with music alot. It doesnt hurt my ability to hear sirens, or watch whats going on around me. And living in Cali its probably illegal..but what the hell isnt these days????

how can music hurt ur riding skills? If anything it will just make u drive faster. Music helps me concentrate. I've yet to find the right headphones that will stay put in under my helmet. Im still looking though. soon as i find a noise blocking & nice fitting ill be set.
