Default craigslist response

Hey guys-i'm selling a TV stand on craigslist for $250, cuz it's too big. Anyways, i had a guy email me last night and ask if is still available. I told him yeah, and here's the email i got this morning. Sound fishy to you? lol

Hi...I'm very glad that the item is still available, thanks for the prompt response and i will love to make an instant purchase, so please and please do withdraw the advert from Craigslist, i dont mind adding an extra $50.00 for you to take the advert down from craigslist so that i can be rest assured that am in hand of the item. I will also like you to know that i will be paying via check, and it will be over night payment due to the distance. You dont need to bother yourself with the shipment ok, i will do take care of that. So i will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check. 1. Your full name
2. Your mailing address be it residential or postal address
3. Your Phone Number.
Once again, I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping...i will have my mover come over as soon as you have cashed the check. Thanks
James

So.....this guy sounds legit, right? I mean, he's gonna give me an extra $50 to take my ad down. What could be wrong?

Anyone got any clever ideas on how to play this one out?

I think you should give him your social security number as a show of faith.

yahhh, don't give tis person any of your information about your self. if your going to sell on C.L. just buy or sell local and save your self any agrivation. i use C.L. all the time but i will only pick up NO DELIVERIES!!!! and if i'm selling i do not ship it's only local pickup only. unless i'm selling on e-bay(not very often) then i will mail out only after the payment has cleared and buy from only people with realy good feedback. be very careful of scamers there are 100's out there.

I was selling my Guitar and Amp, and got a similar response. There are some people out there that are stupid enough to go through with it.

Do you guys remember that guy who scammed the scammer with an Apple laptop, and posted his progress on a forum? Someone dig that up, and let's have Iso do the same here!
