Default Cops and Gear?

Serious question: Why don't more motocops gear up? Went to go pick up my gf from work and passed a traffic stop. Best piece of gear the motocop was wearing was his jackboots. And it was chilly so I know the long sleeve shirt wasn't doing duck for him.

I always wondered if I'm missing something here.

Those boots, a leather bomber jacket, and an open face helmet is the most gear ive ever seen them wear. Youd assume theyd wear more but maybe its got something to do with a uniform/appearance policy....or the harley davidson uniform policy

What about lightweight textile?

Police here are fully decked out and can be spotted from a mile away!

They dont have to worry about using a firearm so arm movement isnt that important. They need the gear to take a beating. Just my two cents though.

I'm not sure where you think this picture is from (not the UK. Poor club swinging Brits..) but they do actually carry hand guns.
However, they don't have to use it near as much as officers in the US. Americans are crazy with guns though.

Yeah there was no way to tell but given the fancy BMW bike, highly reflective gear, and bikes it was a pretty good guess that this was somewhere in the uk.

Where is the picture from?
