Heh, Tampa's bike scene isn't a ton better imo. My bf and I have pretty much given up on the local crew, it's still a lot of helmetless squids and people who like to play "I'm more macho than you" on group rides.

I quit the scene for the same reasons....i ride with a small crew of adults that ride for all the right reasons. got sick of seeing kooks run into eachother and draw horrible attention to all involved. i feel best riding alone accually. OOH and not to turn this into a rant but please for the love of god...dont pullup beside me on the intestate at speed in my lane, this aint CHIPS. just because ive got a sportbike dont mean i want to race you, dont mean i want to match wheelies in heavy traffic, Elf , ya right on time with that statement.

I'm with the both of ya. I actually ride mostly with a buddy of mine from Tampa and the amount of squids I see is ridiculous. Especially if I go hit old town for bike night!

I like to ride in a group of 2 or 3.... I enjoy the comfort of a group should the worst happen 40 miles into the woods on my 11 year old bike but any more than that and I get nervous for my safety. A couple of the randoms my buddy has brought on rides make me very wary of the tampa riders...
