Chicken strips?

This is kinda a squidly thing to do but how big are your chicken strips? Im not looking to call names or make fun of people for not wanting to lean but i figured what way to better test tires and see how well they really hold under hard corners.

Track pics are okay too but mention if its track or street you got the picture from and also what type of tire.

These are my bt-16s i use on the street. I love them and will most likely never switch!

As you can tell im more comfy in a deep right hand turn. lol

I'd have to buy new tires to tell ya, I haven't changed em since I bought the bike. I'm sure they'll be significantly bigger than that however.

Chicken strips come and go ... depends on what type of riding you have been dong the last time out ...:icon_shrug:

I tend to ride mine for daily small trips to the shop , outings with my misses on the back just cruising and hard solo runs up the in the mountains ..

If om just cruising ..they come back , if om solo and running harder they disappear completely.... so it depends on when you look at yu tires ...:icon_bike:

I think peeps that bother to worry about them are worrying about nothing .. although a clean tire with no strips does look kool ...LOL at least for a while ...

just my 2c worth ...

CBRfenatic93 03-25-2010 05:11 PM

Understood. Im not worrying about them. My bike looks like a big ol piece of sh!t right now so i dont really care. lol. I just like to look at how far over i get. haha.

Kuroshio 03-25-2010 05:16 PM

Mine are friggen huge! Proud of it too! :)

It's not so much being afraid to lean her down. It's more a matter of where I ride, having to lean her down that much means something has gone tragically wrong. I'm in Philadelphia. Many corners are blind 90 degree corners from a stop sign (South Philly being the land of double parking). Harsh lean angles are basically reserved for emergency maneuvering (Philly pothole in the middle of that previously mentioned blind 90 degree turn).

Maybe when I get my new bike I'll go find some twisties... Oh wait, did I say new bike????

To be continued

what chicken strips?

lol brand new tires :) less than 100 miles on them so far. can still see some tire nipples on the center

BUT as Kuro said, not much for "twisties" in my hood. it will be a little bit before i can get more north and really put these tires to the test :) though i try to hit the local few S curves when i go out lol (weaksauce)

My track bike tires have none. The arrows and little Michelin Men are gone.

My street bike tires have about 1/4", and they'll never go away because if I want to really lean, I use the track bike where I can do it safely.

TK954RR 03-25-2010 05:57 PM

On my 954 i dont have any with a 190 rear tire. However on the 07 600rr with a 180 tire i can burn my knee down to bear bone dragging it before i hit the edge of the tire, so there are about 1/2 in strips. However im 6'3" or so with long legs. Im sure if i rode out of form i could get rid of them, but just dont care.

Hoosier1104 03-27-2010 04:39 AM

Mine are about the same as yours. They will go away with time though. A a$$ ton of riding will be done this season after a 2 yr absence. She is going to rode hard and put away wet like she should be. Giggity giggity alright!

Red_Eye 03-27-2010 12:19 PM

My tires are 100% chicken strip. 95% of my riding is commuting to work and back, and of those 60 km/day about 54 are straight flat highway, 4 are straight flat street, and the other 2 are gravel road from the highway to my house :icon_teeth:
