And we thought riding our silly Hondas was "fun" and "badass". That man has the right idea.

I saw this video a few months ago, seen it a few times since then...the thing about the guy flying is that if you watch any videos about him (specifically interviews) he makes it quite clear that...

1. He wants to land without a parachute one day.
2. He started flying because he had become pretty much self destructive.

Another interesting fact about him is that he was going to do a jump with a close friend of his one day, they got to the jump point (I think they were in a plane for this one, not sure though) and jumped together. Plan was for Jeb to go under a bridge, and his friend over.

His friend hit the bridge and died instantly. The impact tore at least one of his limbs off and deployed his parachute.

It's a pretty risky sport...and a lot of people have died doing it.

The thing about those suits is, they are not designed to "fly" they are designed to "glide" meaning, they don't go up, they only go down. Of course one guy put jet engines on his legs and was able to get some lift a little while ago...the suits are pretty hard to control as well as he can from what I can see, and he has had a few other close experiences like that too.

As for the helmet, it's there to keep the wind off his face, make him look cool, and is also a good way to mount his GoPros. Plus, you would be surprised, a few people have survived parachute crashes due to helmets...of course they were things like the chute tangling and the people hit rock walls at semi-low speeds. That helmet would do nothing if he was flying his suit and hit a wall...

I've jumped out of helos & planes but not BASE jumping. Adding that kind of suit to a BASE jump intensifies the level of experience required geometrically!

Jeb is extremely talented...smart too, getting paid to do what he loves.
