The change in life may be upon me early...
I have been a sportsbike fan for as long as I can remember ... I would never consider anything else, indeed most other bikes especially cruisers and such were pretty much a bit ewww to me ... I only liked the sportbike, whatever the manufacturer as long as it was built for speed and handling then it grabbed my attention, and of course riding sportbikes, that power and arm wrenching acceleration ... the sublime handling that somehow plugged in to your very soul and obeyed every thought and command......
I could go on but you get the picture, there ain't nothing going to steer me from sportbikes...
A friend called down to see me yesterday , I hadn't seen him in ages ... he was on a new bike and wanted to show it to me, it was a Harley Davidson 1200 Custom, in black ... so I strolled out and looked it up and down, he said why don't you have a sit on it ... so I did, quite high bars, very feet forward and very comfortable ...start it up he said, omg it throbbed away and twisting the throttle gave a real shudder as the revs blipped ... I tried so hard to dislike this bike, it is afterall THE ANTI SPORTBIKE!!
It was all in black, understated with just the right amount of "bling" ... I must try and get pictures next time he comes down on it,
Dammit, I really liked it ..... and, he looked so cool in his black leathers when he rode off on it...
What the hell is happening to me??

I for one like those badass Harleys that aren't too over the top. I bet I like the exact bike you sat on, just by the way you described it.
I noticed at the MSF course that my lower back got really sore when riding in that feet forward position. I don't have that problem when I ride my CBR.
I'd like to see pics!

oh thats fine, if i am commuting to college i like my sportbike but if me and my grandpa go riding i ride his cruiser, he has two, we just ride around out in the country the state park and its nice and peaceful. i tried going with him on my f4 but its not nearly as much fun seeing as he rides a little slower and the rock roads. there is a time and a place for everything and cruising with grandpa sucks on a sportbike.

Right then, a friend just gave me a Harley link...
http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...es/xr1200.html
and I am pretty certain the one he came down on was this bike in the picture, although it did look much better in the flesh
and sounded amazing ... pictures really are no good other than a vague idea because this was so nice to see for real
and also from that link I really like the look of the 1200X,
Here is a picture but if my experience is anything to go by then that X will look ten times better in the flesh
