Default Cameras, legality?

So I've been wondering if sticking a go pro camera on my rear tail section on a public road is legal? Can a cop stop me for that? Such as, danger to others, privacy...blah blah. I don't want to get a ticket or a warning. Cops in my area have NOTHING better to do...

Unless you are riding at night, with the red lights blinking...maybe? Buy its Christmas....I just saw a bike the other day with Christmas lights, red, blue & green blinking.....honest to say, if a cop wants to pull you over, they will have any reason to. Gopro or not...

They may tell you you can't film them if you pulled over but there is no law against - at least in Texas.

In the "public domain" there is no right of privacy - if you want to run a Go pro you can - that's why movie stars have such problems with "unauthorised pictures" - it becomes invasion of privacy when you take pics inside someones home, or through windows. The only reason the police don't want their faces shown is for protection - understandable as they have a private life and family too.
That's my understanding of the law in the US.
It's a bit like the Constitutional right to bear arms............you can have a firearm
but you can't just go shooting people
You'd be invading their "personal space" with your bullet HEHEHE

Nope. I got pulled over and had my camera mounted and the popo said to turn it off if it is on. My response was, NO, it is fully legal. I said, are you trying to tell me it isn't? He said he was doing a spot check.

Yes, its legal to have a GoPro/etc mounted to you bike.

A "spot-check" is nothing more than checking your credentials (plate, license, insurance) & vehicle condition.

An excuse to check to see if you are up to no good. They basically pick random vehicles to pull over and ask for insurance, license and make sure your car is in working order.

If you are from CALIFORNIA. it's legal to have camera mounted as long as during night time it doesn't have blinking lights or any sort of bright lights that may distract other drivers.
