OK I called the honda dealer...
Me: Hi I'm calling to see if you have an Oil filter in stock for my '87 Hurricane.
Kid: I doubt it but lemme check....
Me: Thanks
Kid: Yup We got one.... Hey you wanna sell it... I'll give you my 125 for it...
Me: No not selling it

I go to pick up the filter...
Me: Hi I just called about the oil filter for my cane...
Kid: sure you don't wanna trade me...
Me: what good is a 125 to Me? I can't ride it on the street.
Kid: yeah but you can't jump that thing...come on it's like a 20 year old relic...
Me: just giveme my filter. (took every ounce of my will to not choke slam him)[:@]


Now I'm feeling more and more insulted as I sit here...
I know my bike isn't the best but it's all I got and all i can afford... I think if i'm insulted like that in the dealership again i'll just ask for the mgr... (I'm working through some anger management issues)

 

Don't be too insulted. Sounds like he really wanted your bike, just isn't very good at bartering.

Let it go and go ride. Life's too short to let stuff fester.

 

Life too short to sweat the small stuff, wait its all small stuff.... The kid really wanted it it sounded like. All he could get was a 125 and wanted to cheat you, when he couldnt he just insulted you... dont worry I hear it about mine all the time, but it still out runs their cars!!

 

Just went for a ride cooled the head off ... what bothered me was the kids attitude...Fu#! em'...

(didn't the other 49 states tell you that word died in the 80's)

 

Sounds like the kid has a serious case of bike envy. Probably fantasizes about how cool he'd look on a Hurricane but can only afford a 125. When he couldn't make the one-in-a-million shot and get your to trade even-up for his 125 he decided to increase his cool factor by putting your Hurricane down. Just laugh at him and walk away. It would have been interesting to hear his response had you asked him, "If you can't jump the Hurricane, why do you want it?" As to the Hurricane not being the best, that's just an opinion. I've ridden other bikes, and haven't found one yet that would pry my '91 CBR out of my hands. It might happen a few years down the road, but as far as I'm concerned my bike is the best - for me.
