I like it for a sport hatch! I wish Ford would bring their small international diesels over to the US, strict american emissions...
What is the mpg rating? And how do diesel prices compare to gas over there?

Currently diesel costs £1.38 and petrol is £1.30.
That translates to $2.17 , $2.05

The mpg is rated at 68 miles per gallon.

Forgive me if I offend, but certainly my image of the states is (when it comes to vehicles) that most people drive around in big 3 or 4 litre trucks?? I mean, this is an image painted by television so I'm probably wrong?

that's per liter, not gallon....

so compared to us - which we're at $3.40 (gas) and $3.75 (diesel) per GAL

where ever those prices are from you need to multiply by 3.79 for gallon prices. so his prices compared to US are $8.22 and $7.77 a gallon...

i have a 2 liter hyundai and a 5.8 liter bronco.... both gas (although the bronco will get a 6bt if i ever get a chance!). there are many small cars and many big motor'd cars/trucks in the usa. obviously, there are more trucks in the south which i would assume that stereotype is from

3 or 4 liter trucks? More like 5.7 to 6 liter. And lucky to get 20mpg.

More big trucks down south is false, there are big trucks/lifted trucks no matter what state u r in...

N ull see anything from cars breaking down on the road, no lights, etc... to lifted trucks, lowered cars, to high performance automobiles.

Hell im 23 and was driving a 4.2l Audi S8 for a lil bit, needless to say I was going broke... n sold it.

Anyways, nice whip man!!

4L is small, thats 6 cylinder size. V8's are mostly in the 4.8-6.2L range. Europe makes more deisel per barrel of crude oil then the states does which is one reason we don't have as many deisel vehicles.

I'd be also willing to be that the oil companies are doing their best to thwart further Diesel production due to its better fuel economy, which will cut into their profits.

That's awesome!! I have a 6.0L 3/4 ton diesel truck but would love the opportunity to downsize to a half ton if it came with a diesel.
