Default Boosting PC speed

I'm currently running an Intel Pentium D 2.8GHz CPU with 2MB RAM. What would be a good way to boost my performance?

Oops, I meant 2GB. I'm retarded. Anyway, I bought all the hardware separately and put it together myself. Intel CPU, Intel motherboard, CoolerMaster fan, BFG video card, Plextor CD/DVD writer, SATA HDD, etc...
What is overclocking? I've heard the term before, but I've also heard it can be bad so I never read up on it.
What is it, and what does it do?
I guess my main point of the thread is this: When downloading 1 thing at a time (i.e., Aussie GP from Stephygee) I get really fast download speed. But when I try to dl multiple things at once, it seems to bog down. Any tips?

Yea overclocking is when you raise the clock speed of the cpu (2.8 to like 3.0 etc) with the dual cores I really dont see the use in it anymore lol. except the brag factor of looky what I did. I've done it b4 but rarely seen a proformance increase to justify it.

With the issue you describe it has more to do with your connection speed not your computer itself. the more you download the more it divides the dl speed. Also depends on where you get it n the speed the allow per file etc.

Sounds like ISP issue not a computer issue.. the more things you start to download your isp will limit your bandwidth... nothing to do with your computer.
