Just tell them that inside of your backpack you have a super secret jetpack that if you fly off your bike you can hover up to 50feet in the air and there is also a little control for your bike so you can steer it safely to a stop. When they ask you to see it just cross your eyes laugh manically and speed off wobbling.

I wear my backpack to and from work every day. It seems like the only problem I have is remembering to zip it all the way closed. I have lost my lunch twice now on the way to work, then I get stuck eating the Mexican food in the cafeteria. I have gone 160+ with no problems at all with the backpack. I will see how it goes next week with the new 2006 1000R that I am picking up on Friday.

i did have a problem when i 1st started riding and all i had for a backpack was one of those GAP "one shoulder" backpacks and it would flap around and blow around especially on the free way.. i had a better chnace of the backpack flying off then i ever did... then i got my paycheck and bought a better pack lol

yeah i tried riding with those "messenger" bags.. okay at low speeds but definitely flings around at higher speeds [:@]

Anyways, your body is stopping the backpack from getting air to the side that would matter.

Yeah I also wear a backpack almost everywhere I go. To and from work and the gym every single day. Large backpack to work and a smaller one to the gym. Ive never had any problems with it. I would say that it is no different than having a jacket on.

I once lost my chain lube because I didnt put the zippers all the wat to the side when I closed the bag. I also once went away with a girl for the weekend, and some guy in a car started waving us over. I thought he was mad that I passed him or something but we stopped and he told us that all her clothes fell out about two miles back. We were on the highway so there was no sense in going back. Lucky for her, her underwear were in the front pouch and didnt fly out.....unlucky for me.
