We live in a psycho world, and there are psychos out there. (that will do just about anything) They can get your phone number and address (maybe more) with your plate number. I don't want anyone on the net knowing EXACTLY where I live (unless I deem it necessary). Giving out the city and state is close enough.

right I didn't wanna really go there cuz that's extreme...

but all you have to do is make one phone call to your friend who owes you money from yesterday and they get your address so they can come pick up "their" shiney new 600RR in the 8 hours you're away at work

Hmm I wonder how long it would take to drive to Irvine, CA 92602, USA. Now I know there's a Chevy Silverado in the background of your siggy too which probably I could figure out your address with aswell. Now if I was a real bastard I'd get your bike in the back of your truck then drive off with both of them

I understand some of the points made, but the plate is still visible while out in public anyway, all the time. If your bike is going to be stolen, it will just be stolen regardless of whether someone saw a pic of your plate on a forum.

Quick heads up>>>how locks work: they keep honest people out... anybody who wants your bike will get it

Chipped keys don't do anything, it's a gimmick. Anybody with 20 minutes and google can figure out how to steal a car. Even with "laser" keys or "no keys, push start" cars.
