Bike Clubs
Are any of you in bike clubs?? My brother and i are thinking of making one for our friends. Nothing organized, just something to call ourselves when were out riding. thinking of calling ourselves "Section 8" section 8 is what you get kicked out under in the military if youre insane. figure it had a cool meaning behind it. we are also going to get crazy 8 ball stickers to put on our bikes. nothing too big. my brother called the local cop shops to make sure the symbal and name havnt been or are in use and that we wont get into any trouble with the 8 ball as a symbol. has anyone else thought of making a little club like this or am i just being crazy???

RE: Bike Clubs
I am in a club calledS.O. Riders. My nickname in the club is "Rainman" because, "I'm a good driver...slow in the driveway". We are pretty family oriented, and you'll never catch us riding wheelies on the freeway. It is pretty fun, although, I haven't been able to ride with them much at all lately, just been way too busy. Anyway, I think it is a cool thing as long as you are with like minded riders. We have a couple of guys who are just acting like a bunch of ********...tearing ahead of the group at speeds of 100+, getting out of formation and passing to the front of the pack, getting all squidley. We are going to ask them to chill out, or ride with some other folks because we don't want guys like that in our group.

RE: Bike Clubs
we had a club "midwest Bad boyz" for 3 years and had 80 members and 3 chapters..but the guy that started it shut i down because he got mad. so now we are starting another one and should have a name tommmorrow.
word of advice -->get ahold of your local 1% club for permission, colors and patch/sticker design, it will save you ALOT of hassles.. i dont know how it is by you, but people who just start a club out of the blue get insome bad trouble up here.. i have heard of them getting pulled over and have to scrap their stickers of the bike and take patches off of thier vest.... and not by the cops... we have been eating lunch and have had a group of guys come into the restaurant just to ask us who we got blessed by.
heres some good reading.. http://home.earthlink.net/~rcvsmc-edu/id27.html

RE: Bike Clubs
the 1% club will be the harley guys that have 13 or a diamond patch with 1% in in on thier vest..
ask a local harley shop or keep your eyes open and if you see one somewhere ask them how you can get in contact with one of thier officers, then call him and request a meeting...
Best bet and the easiest is to be a Social Club or a Riding Club! (thats what we are doing this time around) then you are free to do what you want.. but if you REALLY want MC after your name then you*edit* shouldto get ahold of them.

RE: Bike Clubs
I'm in a club called the Blueliners, originally formed by current & ex Police (Thin Blue Line). Although its membership goes well beyond that. Not to many Harleys, all types of makes, all types of riders, sex & ages. All the rides we do, we pay a $30 registration fee, and it goes to the "Child Flight Helicopter Rescue".
One particular ride, we get a police escort, although we usually leave that well behind.
