Default The Big Loop

I wanted to shared this with the people outside of the Detroit,MI tri-county area. Since there are no twisties here our ancestors made up a heck of a loop. Its all freeway the speed limits on these set of freeways are 75 mph and this Big Loop covers about 70+ miles and like 15-18 cities. MOST people only hits the loop late at nite. Google has it listed has an 1hr and 15min ride, but I have heard of some guys (from pretty reliable riders) finishing it in 35-40 minutes and others (unreliable riders) finishing it in 25-30 minutes . I'm not gonna incriminate myself by putting my time but its nowhere near 35-40 minutes !!!!!!!! Here it is THE BIG LOOP

I don't know about MI, but in NJ the state troopers trying to shut down street racing frequent forums in order to gather information for gathering times and places. Also, just by posting times, you might have some novice trying to prove some worth and get into an accident in an attempt to gain bragging rights and that would just bring more unwanted attention. If you're gonna have fun on the streets, you should keep it as hush hush as possible, just my .02 of course.

Most of the guys I ride with are cops from 4 different cities and trust me EVER LEO already knows about the Loop and the 3 big local street race areas They shut down every race spot at almost the exact same time. Its always one car at every "event" that drives by with his flashing lights, no siren and just says "go home" and the hundred or so cars just leave like they are driving on a regular street. If the newb wants to try it he should know his limits, respect his bike and never do anything for bragging rights. If he wants bragging rights he can just say "Hey I did the big loop in 30mins" without ever even getting on the freeway. But believe me NONE OF THIS IS NEW . Google something like " french road races detroit " People has been there dragging since my grandpa was a kid, I dont know if it was b4 but my grandpa has a million stories about French, Clay, and Outer Drive.

Man, Jersey needs some nicer state troopers. :P

Before I left for Korea, there was some raid and the cops confiscated like 100+ cars from a local street racing area.

The Michigan State will try KILL you if your on a bike and u ****** away. But if you already at 100 or so and they hit the lights and you go harder they will fall back if they are to far away. Just have to watch them on the big Loop but at the street races they never come thru. Knock on wood. Did you google or youtube it and see all the races ?

Nice! I'm fairly new to riding, and have gotten pretty freeking bored of riding around on the gird that is Detroit. I'll deff give this loop a shot, probably looking @ an hour plus for me, but looks like a nice ride. How crappy is 94 down in Detroit?
