What you really meant to say was " I love it when people make fun on 250's and then I'll watch a vid of a 250 on a track its all over the 600's *** because the rider of the 250 has much more track experience than the rider of the 600, or else the 250 would obviously be seconds if not minutes behind."
Dont worry about thanking me for fixing that for you![EEK!](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif)

Dont dis a bike that you havent ridden. I love my 250. I dont race it and I dont stunt it. I ride it. Thats what it was made for.

Doesn't really matter as long as it is not overly agressive (and even that is debatable) as long as it is over 50CC (and therefore legal to ride on the street, in traffic ) and people keep their gonads and egoes in check, and a genuine interest in improving.
Now if you ask "what is the SAFEST bike to learn on" oviously the smallest/ lightest/ slowest will minimize your chances of getting in over your head. I'd love to have a little Ninja 250 to tool arround in, and maybe I'll get one at a later time.

250's = LOL...But yeah, 250's are jokes, and I would think that going from a 250 to a 600 would be like starting from the beginning anyways, with only having an understanding for the basics. I mean c'mon, youre going from a 15 second lightweight La-Z-Boy to a 12 second 400 pound rocket.

i never thought i would get a 1000cc but i'm on one now and i respect the hell out of it - it still has alot of power i've havent even touched yet, and i would rather keep it that way..

i am 28 and got my bike when i was 27 in sept. of last year...i took my msf on some 250 cruisers and my first bike about a month later ws my '01 F4i...i have had no problems with it and hace gotten to be a pretty competent rider....however, this is coming from someone really new to bikes...i couldn't tell you a lot about other sizes just because i haven't ridden many..(trying)...so at least from the prespective of a less than a year experience rider, the 600 was a big deal...and i didn't lose my head, granted, i am 28 and married so....

it all depends on experiance i grew up on dirt bikes and quads. my first bike was an f4 and it was perfect. i cant see me riding a 250 i would have grown out of it in two weeks and been upset. their good for teen age kids though. because if it will do 140 they will take it there but if it will do 110 they will only take it there granted they have enough room to do it on a 250. 600s are just too quick for a teen that has no sense and most of them don't.

I didn't vote because I didn't see F2 or F3 on there. I think they are good starter bikes. 600cc, but not as much oomph as a F4 or F4i. IMO, 250's are too slow to learn on, especially if you're a big boy like me. I took the MSF course... I rode a 250 there for 2 days, and I was (seriously) ready for something bigger.
If a new rider wants to go 140MPH anywhere but the track, he shouldn't be riding ANY size bike, IMO.
