Default Best Start Bike Poll

I am sure I am going to get more angry people telling me to do a search on this tired subject than I will get willing participants. But I was on the Kawasaki forum and was shocked at the number of people who thought that the Ninja 250 was the ONLY starter bike. I would have offered more choices, but this is the one I came up with. I would like to see what the Honda community thinks about starter bikes. Are they all recommending Ninja 250s because they ride Kawasakis and Kawasaki has a 250? I honestly don't remember everyone recommending 250cc bikes here. Most people here recommend like an old 1990s CBR F series or something it seems. But if I am wrong, and most Honda riders do recommend a 250cc bike, I'd like to know.

I know the rider makes all the difference. Let's assume the rider is male, over 18, getting the bike on his own dime, hopes to not be tempted to upgrade within one week, and has already taken the MSF basic course.

Please let me know. If you have other bikes that are not on the poll, please let me know.

And I know someone somewhere has probably asked this before. If seeing this question again offends you, please just don't participate.

Thanks.

cbr 600 f3 -- for the win .. its a great starter bike but it's also something you can keep for a long time and still enjoy.being able to grow with a bike gives you something a guy thatlearns on a 250 then jumps to a 600 cc bike doesnt get.

That's what I think too. It seems that for a lot of people, even saying 600cc and first bike in the same sentence makes them crap their pants.

I've got to go with the F4i. After being off a bike for 10+ years (1st bike was a Hawk 400) I felt really comfortable on it. It's also a good bike to stick with.

I don't see the Suzuki GSX-R 1300 Hayabusa. That gets my vote.

Kawai's 650 is a good bike. I've never heard of a bad year for Honda's 600. So those two are good.

Not a starter bike but I'd love to have a Triumph 675.
