Best free email account?
Hey guys, what is the best free email account to have? I currently have my email through school, which I graduated, so it will be closing. Yahoo mail sucks, anything you guys can recommend? I only access it from a computer, so hand held access is not important. Maybe a Google email?

I agree with MrBomb, I have msn and have no issues. I also have a yahoo account. I use my msn as my main account for friends and business. If I am emailing and am worried about spam coming back, I use my yahoo account so my msn account doesnt get full of junk emails. But I agree about the yahoo account, I dont like how it is set up and seems to take for ever to load.
I also have msn messenger. I really dont use it very often, but it does have a direct link to my email which makes it really quick to check emails, and also pops up alerts if new emails are there.

Hey Timmy,
You can probably keep your college's email account. Most colleges will allow you to keep the account open if you ask them or keep some ties to the university after graduation like being apart of the alumni society or the like. I know for some people, it is very convenient if they already have a lot of people that use one email address to keep things organized.
In a gist, I would rate Gmail first, then MSN, then Yahoo. Each has its negatives and each has its positives. The one good thing about Gmail, other than always getting a space increase, is that Gmail supports working with client programs like Outlook or outlook express and will work with many phones (although you said you didn't need that).
Have fun choosing!

yahoo mail is the bottom of the barrel but (there is probably a couple others floating around down there with it) it should be mandatory to have one just for backup. Try not to keep anything important in yahoo. It is well known that yahoo is the easiest email to hack into.
Gmail is better because of its fundamentalism and you can define your own security question.
As far as free goes...
