Honorablemention: Jackie Robinson, Bruce Jenner, Larry Bird,Mickey Mantle, Magic Johnson, 1980 US Hockey Team, Larry Bird, Knute Rockne, Jesse Owens, Jack Nicklaus, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Pele, ...and manymore!

And look at all he has acheived with just one nut. The guy is amazing.

But he's a loser for dating a 21 year old.

Where's Brian Bosworth? He should get honorable mention for the sweet mullet category.

Criteria?? If you mean as an "athlete" only I'd have to go with Jordan (from that list) but if you mean as 'all around' athlete including things like handling the fame, their general persona, etc.. I'd have to go with Ali (off that list) esp. considering taking jail time as a stance against the gov't, etc ... either way Most of us were not around to witness a lot of what Ali did but a lot of us saw first hand what Jordan did so we will probably be biased a little. Tiger may be close but he's not done yet so we don't know.

why do I have to make everything so difficult [8D]

...because you are a thug! I guess I was thinking about an "overall" athlete to include physical feats, personal achievements, celebrity, popularity, etc, but whatever happens in this poll stays in this poll...it is not a scientific poll...

Wow, you talk about a thread that could produce a thousand arguments!

I went with the Babe --- completely dominatedin his era. Jordan is a very close second.

Bird is still my favorite.

P.S. You said it right for honorable mention: "and many more." Where's Teddy Ballgame? I see that list growing quickly.
