Stay in Montana, better animals, waaaaaaay cheaper license fees and better seasons. Washington State is simply out to rip off anyone they can and make every penny of every dollar out of anyone. Lousy rules, short seasons, low limmits and stupid expensive....yeeaaaay sign me up to pay $400+ for a 150lb blacktail at best, and thats if you see one, and if it goes 150. The hunting is much better in Montana. I tagged out three years in a row here, none of them really impressive, scouted a good bit, 3-4 months, best was a 4x on an irrigated alfalpha crop. Just not what they crack it up to be. All those trophy elk and whitetails are on game units known by guides, and you'll damn near need a second mortgage to pay for one of those hunts. Theres OK hunting here, but not so OK by the time you pay for all the ridiculous license and fees. I think I was out almost 400$ last year by the time it was done for a hunting and fishing license, and that was for military resident, jeeeeeez don't even look at non-resident.Game dept isn't all that helpfull, just out for the $$$$ look at any forum on the area and it'll be obvious, folks are really fed up, but whatcha gonna do?

Oh, I just saw you're in Washington. Yep, I've never been there, but I've been out to Mt numberous times. I'm lucky, all I have to pay is the out of state license fees, which is like 350-400 bucks. No outfitter fee's. This will be my first time hunting on his land, however on visits I've seen so many deer it's not even funny. Hauling some wood one morning and I popped up over a hill in the truck, taking a load back and saw 3 muleys, all of which were at least 26+ in. in width and 4x's, I'm really looking forward to it. And I've seen some large whitetail while raking too.

Hey Troop...good to see you posting again. At some point you have to get your *** down to Southern Oregon...someday...[&:]. We will have quite the time. My dad has a gun case full of firearms that we need to molest. Maybe get lost in Eastern Oregon shootin' jack rabbits. We'll see about inviting Red600RR (K Falls), too. Stuff all of our camping gear in the back of his truck, shoot, fish, get drunk, and ride when we are sober...are you in? How 'bout you, Red?
I know some great places out east of Bly for fishing and shooting.....head out there all the time!! The fields are full of ground squirels....great fun with a .22. Good Bass fishing out at Obechain Resovoir too. Giddy up!!
