Driver tried to sideswipe officer, police sayBEDFORD -- A Fort Worth man was in custody Friday after authorities say he tried to steer his SUV into an officer's motorcycle during a brief pursuit. The Bedford officer chased the man through three cities before the vehicle stopped in North Richland Hills. Police identified the driver as William A. Roberts, 27, who was in the Bedford Jail. His bail was set at just over $53,000. The officer began the chase about 9:40 a.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of Airport Freeway when he clocked a Chevrolet Suburban going about 79 mph. The speed limit is 60 mph. During the pursuit, the Suburban driver tried to sideswipe the motorcycle officer, police said. The officer was not injured. The officer persuaded the motorist to pull off the road in the 5400 block of Davis Boulevard in North Richland Hills, police said. -- Domingo Ramirez Jr.

Oh...and if possible put in a good word for me...and for 50 grand a year and great benefits...I'll take the job.
No one forced anyone to become a cop.
You don't hear marines whine like babies about their duties...so grow a set.

bmg- well I'm glad to see that someone posts a positive article about cops. That article out come was one of many that could have occurred but I'm glad to see that the suspect is in custody and that no one was hurt.
the rest of you two posts makes no sense to me though. Your posts to me are way off topic and should probable be put into thier own thread seperate from the banning sportbike threads.

BMG, what the **** are you talking about? Trust me boy, the risk is what attracts 80% of officers to their work.
80% of cops don't need to kick a bike over or manhandle a punk when they catch him - they've already got their satisfaction, they caught the bitch and trust me, that's a good feeling. Why would I want to rough someone up after I used every tool in my legal handbook to catch him? Stoo-pid.
You wanna talk salary? Cops make the same waged teachers do in almost every state. When was the last time you thought teachers made out like bandits? We-tall-did.
Benfefits, huh? Here is a classic example of someone spouting off at the keyboard about something they have no idea. Do me a favor, next time you're in contact with a LEO, ask him what he thinks about his medicaland life insurance. Then ask him what he thinks about his "employee sponsored retirement fund." Are you even aware that the majority of retired cops earn a measley 35% of their salary at time of retirement. That's once a month. Oh, let's not forget that they'll be working well into their 50's and often times in their 60's before they can retire with full benefits. Sure, they can get out sooner, but it cuts that 35% down to about 20-25%.
You wouldn't take the job. I've man handled grown men that would turn you bitch. Call me when you've convinced6 illegals, 2 of which were admitted MS-13 members (prolly trying to recruit the other 4) that taking a ride with you to jail is in their best interest. I've done it and I did it like a champ. I've seen nothing in your internet personality that would convince me you'd be anything other than just another lackluster, ho-madecop. I think the whole point of these types of threads is that we're in need of better cops, not just substandard ones.
What's amusing to me is how you dilligently post one story about a, "good cop." Jesus dude- are you even aware that every single story of a **** cop could be countered with an amazing story of a cop going above and beyond his duty to help someone who needed it?
That's my job from now on. Every time someone posts some ridiculous story about how cops are dicks, I'm going to post 3 good stories in the thread.
What you fools are doing could be done with anything or anyone. I could post every time a blackguy mugs someone. I could post every time a white guy blows up his house from cooking meth. I could post every time a Mexican gets caught illegal and claim they're all illegal. But for some reason we choose to understand that those stories don't make up the whole of that specific populace. Yet somehow we abandon that constructive thought when it's light is shin upon cops.
Selective intolerance.

Where would you find, in anything I've ever posted here, any reference to lead you to be unsure enough as to feel the need to ask me that question?
That area apparently has an ongoing problem. The political powers that be feel as if it's the only solution. Sure, they'll find another way to feel more secure, but this was their way of getting attention and saying, "hey, we have a problem."
It worked, people everywhere are talking about it and hopefully, a resolution will come from someone who's read the story and can offer some insight other than a ban.

At no one...named...because I'm in a good mood.
Point is, and I would gladly prove this if not for my age, I don't view becoming a police officer as a job, but a moral choice.
Kind of like some soldiers don't join to get college money, but actually want to serve and give something back to the country and people in it.
What gets old, is how these financial wizards continously join their local force...and really don;t do a damn thing.
Then when anyone has anything that isn't *** kissing them....they get railed.
Hey pahdnah...I, and every other tax payer in every town and city in the U.S. pays your ****ing salary...so if I don't like what I am paying for...damn right I'll comment.
Now, take your rude and expert *** and shove it where the sun doesn't shine...BOY.
