RE: aww crap...NBC orders Top Gear pilot episode...
What makes Top Gear great are the Hosts and seeing what isn't available here. A U.S. version would be like watching Benny Hill starring Ray Romano or George Lopez. Certain things are lost in the translation.
For some reason I like watching the Top Gear guys driving Ford Focus's around a racetrack, but if you showed me a U.S. legal Focus, it would bore the crap out of me, especially since I have a few vehicles in my garage that could run away and hide from that little ****box.
I don't think it will need an organized boycott, I give it 4 episodes and then it'll get cancelled.

All in favor of boycotting this American imposter of top gear???

^^ "Naught to 60" means "Zero to 60". They just say it differently (like how we say Z.) They say pronounce it "Zed", to us it's "Zee".
And yeah, it's going to be called "Gear". It's going to be an Americanized knock-off of TopGear. Kind of how NBC made "The Office" version off of the BBC version. If they pull it off like they did with The Office, then we have a chance. But an American motoring programs have always been sub par. I highly doubt this show is going to portray cars as mystique and cinematically as the original TopGear will. They have passion for cars, we as a society, don't.
I'm hoping it's as close to TopGear as possible, but it'll never be as good. (unless they have Clarkson, Hammond and May hosting it.........which would be miracle.)
