McDonalds will give Police Officers darn near free meals if they go inside and sit down. Seen it happen. Guess it helps to deter crime?? It is sad that PitBulls get such a bad wrap, phucking Michael Vick.

I don't eat mcdonalds much if ever, but I don't find the ad offensive or insensitive and I love dogs. People today are too sensitive to things that don't really matter, like this ad, and insensitive to things that do.

Never met a bad dog, just bad owners. Dogs are sensitive to behavior of the pack leader & if the owners are aggressive/cruel, then their dogs are either going to be tail between their legs terrified or aggressive. Either way that will act badly toward strangers. McDonalds should just stick to selling burgers.

According to the dogsbite.org website between September 1982 and December 2011, the following breeds were responsible for the majority of serious injury and deaths to humans.

The combination of pit bulls, rottweilers, their close mixes and wolf hybrids:
  • 77% of attacks that induce bodily harm
  • 73% of attacks to children
  • 81% of attack to adults
  • 68% of attacks that result in fatalities
  • 76% that result in maiming
Some more stats from dogbitelaw.com:

The breeds most likely to kill:

In recent years, the dogs responsible for the bulk of the homicides are pit bulls and Rottweilers.

And some more stats from petsdo.com:

Under the Top Ten Most Dangerous Dog Breeds list the pit bull is #1.

This is not an indication of the breed but an indication of what the breed is subjected to. Cruelty, dog fighting, guarding drug dealers and other bottom feeders. Pitbulls where the most popular breed in this country for 100 years for good reason. Ever watch the little rascals? Bet you loved that dog. Ever watch the dog whisper? Guess what ceaser's dog daddy was or all his current dogs are...

Another tidbit of info for you to chew on. Statistics are rarely correct. Small dogs bite much much more often than a Pitbull. They just don't inflict as much damage so the bites go unreported. A chihuahua is actually much more likely to attack you than a Pitbull.
This again is not the fault of the breed. When a small dog acts aggressive or does something wrong owners go awe he's so cute when he does that. The dog then learns this behavior is okay. A big dog growls or shows dominance and he's instantly corrected.

Before making posts like this you should do proper research and talk with animal specialists. Preferably dog trainers and other behavior specialists and not be herded like a sheep by the media who loves nothing more than to vilify whoever than can. Dog or human.

This stuff always makes me laugh... Here's two things for you.

the first is - find the APBT. Everyone thinks any dog with muscles and a large head is a Pit.

Pet Pitbull - Find the Pit Bull

And here's the second -

Truth. Plus a HUGE +1 to what Jeffcbr said

Oh and here's a shot of my vicious murdering machine in action. (disclaimer - no that kid is not mine but Kane is!) Although I guess he could be lulling his prey into a false sense of security - or maybe he just wants a snack for after his nap.

Ten+ years ago in S'tralia, just about everyone was blaming Staffies, then German Shepherds & before that its was Cattle dogs. To many people get dogs for the wrong reasons, to many people get dogs & don't have a bloody clue about how to train, discipline & interact with people/children/Postman. I know so many people that have dogs & think their battery operated & apart from feeding them they only interact with them when they feel like. Those that get a working/hunting breed & expect them to be ok penned up in backyard for most of the time. I have to walk my dog twice a day, frisbe or ball & running around with other dogs at the park just to burn off all the energy she has. It pisses me of greatly that dogs take the rap for what is basically the failure of their owners.
