900rr vs 929 0r 1000
#3
Never ridden any of those, but from what I've heard my riding mates tell me about 'em.
900: Very comfy ride for a sportbike, but seems lacking in the corners if you're used to any modern sportbike.
929: Skip.
954: Has a lot of grunt, but feels unrefined if you've ridden any modern sportbike.
1000: Modern ergonomics, but seating feels bunched up and tight. Power, handling, etc. are all smooth, but lack a lot of "character" that older bikes showed.

My 94' 900rr clocks 0-60 @ 3.8 seconds shift from 1st to 2nd in about 8.5rpm. Exceeding 60mph I'm still in 2nd gear.
If all about horse power...of
course the 1000rr
class is dominant...the 929 is dominant over the 900. Aftermarket mods will make up some power? Shedding weight will also help too but is you are in the streets...It's not just all about riders skill but rather your *****. Do you dare? I rather back away, ride save for another day. The power between your legs is for your enjoyment, when ever you need it. No matter 900/929/1000rr the power will leave you speechless. everytime I've done a quarter mile, it's like taking a shot of hydrenaline. I am having so much fun with only the 900rr...have not thought much about upgrading to 929 or 1000rr yet? But problem with the 900 is that they are older carburetor bikes... Many out their have been neglected an difficult to find a clean one. So if you get a hand on a clean one, keep it. They don't make it like that anymore. If I ever decide to upgrade, my choice would be the 1000rr Respol...I want to be able to feel the upgrade, if not, what's the point?
There is plenty of power in the 900rr class but finding one clean is harder than a 1000rr.

Don't forget the 954rr too...it's in the 9 class...All great bikes but of course the older the bike the harder to find one clean...depend on riders, some choose for power, some for look & color, scheme, some know what they want & some want to see & test rider the bike to appreciate before making purchase decision. But one thing about buying used bike is that most seller has a "no joy ride" policy only if cash in hand...so buyers beware & some luck involve.
There will be a story in every purchase and I know exactly why I have chosen to original blade....if I wanted more power, i would have look one class higher. That being said, I am still 100% satisfy with the power of the 900rr....I don't need anything more (yet LOL)....
