Default 87 'cane beating up a new zx-14

My buddy just bought a new bike, while I cant say I agree with his purchase, its still a bike.

We went out riding this past weekend though and had a blast. Because he is still "breaking" the bike in, he doesnt rev it past 6,000rpm's so I can say at this point I beat his *** a couple of times. Granted he walked all over me past 55, but in town his shifting is not quick enough to beat the old girl.

48 today, and 59 tomorrow. Got to love spring!

HAha, that awesome, not many bikes can claim they beat a ZX14, but now you can, lol. I have heard a few bad things about them, about them not holding up. I still cant get over the big black plastic things on the side though. They remind me of a George Forman Grill, but hey, it'll kick my buy,. haha

I agree, it's not a sexy bike. Reminds me of a refrigerator, or a wood stove, or something equally home-appliancy...I just made that word up.

I saw one the other day when I was out on the five four... that 14 is a huge freakin bike. Not a fan of the appearance either but it's definitely fast no doubt about that...

I have to agree that its not a very pretty bike.. I do like the deep blue color however. He put his seat cowl on and that helped out, but its something about how wide the backseat is. Reminds me of a fat woman who is wearing too tight of pants. Stock that bike puts out 168hp to the back wheel and 125lb of torque, I guess they really had to work on fuel regulation because it was hard keeping the front end on the ground. He is putting some new exhaust on sometime in the near future. The current dual's weigh in at over 48 lbs, the new titanium ones he is looking at drop it to 12 lbs.

Since it was such a nice day out though we were out riding again, and not sure WTF was going on. We saw about 5 other sport bikes, and only one other bothered to wave AFTER we did. It was wierd, the guy on the gixxer (yes bashing them again) looked right at us and didnt even bother to acknowedge anyway, guy on an 89 ninja with a girl behind just glared at us... but I am proud to say the one guy who did wave was on a yellow f4i. I had to rub that into my buddies face, that the only really polite riders out seem to be the guys on hondas.

I can't say much about the zx-14 being ugly. My '88 'cane1000 is pretty ugly too. But when you're sitting on the machine the ugly goes away. And the fun begins........

So, would you roundhouse kick a zx-14?

But really, is it just me that can only see the top half of the bikes in that picture?
