I would say F4i's have this small cruiser characteristics applied to a sportbike. As specially mine is a 05 F4i has a banana seat, handle bars are higher and pegs are lower compared to RR. I don't about the difference in engine specs. Those specs make it more comfortable when for long trips. I mean those are things I found out from my experiences.

The RR is a race ready bike that is made street legal. It is lighter, more balanced, has more power, and is less forgiving and less rider friendly (for as street n n00bs). And if you havent noticed, the F series has quite a following and I dont think anyone liked when Honda discontinued the F series, but they did in a slow phase out with the only real changes to the F4i's was the switching back to a banna seat in 03 to its demise in 06.

The other manufacturers have a race-replica 600, like the RR, and at least one more street-friendly bike. Honda is unusual in only offering one fully faired midsize, that has to do it all.
Yamaha has the R6, the R6S (like a 2003-2005 vintage R6) and the 600R, which is a heavier, carbed bike kind of like the late-1990s Honda F3, but not as good.
Kawasaki has the ZZR and the ZX6R, plus the 650R, a parallel twin.
