I see 100+ hours a week. Not every week but 1-2 a month. My partner put 120 hrs in a couple weeks ago. Overtime pays my bills.

glad I am not the only insane one out there. The heat of the asphalt is what kills most people, it comes from our plant at 280 or so. Fortunately I am pretty damn well compensated for what I do, plus 1.5 for overtime.

You guys are just plain crazy! I'm serious...at some point, do you ever wonder if your quality of life is compromised...is it worth it? What I mean is, if you spend 80+ hours a week at your job, that is an "average" of 40 hours per week that you miss with your family, enjoying your motorcycle, having downtime, masterbating, eating Cheetos (Doc, why is my penis orange?),etc. When was it, and who was it that decided that 40 hours per week is just "calling it in"? I can say that our dollar doesn't stretch nearly as far as it should, and sometimes you have to work that much. It is just a shame in my opinion. I can also say that I would have more money if I worked more hours than I do. I put in about 40-50 hours a week, but I don't like compromising my personal time for the job. Welcome to society today, I guess.

I'm a commissioned salesman for United Rentals. We rent equipment and sell contractor supplies. The thing is, I am automatically "coded" for all rentals to charge accounts whether or not I talk to them. Anything in my zip code range is coded to me. I have to make the actual contact on all the "supply" sales. Basically, I drive around all day and try to convince contractors to use my company instead of other companies. The longer I work, the more quotes I can make, the more money I get. 2% of the money on all rentals, 3% on all the sales, and 3% of all the equipment sales. I have a budget to meet, and if the store doesn't hit it's budget, it is my fault (even though it isn't my fault). I get a worthless salary, and have to rely on my personality to make any real money. Aren't you commissioned as well? It can be scary, depending on the "market". Sorry for the long response.

Drive a dilevery truck for Pepsi. I have worked there 3 1/2 years and average at least 45 hrs a week. When i started i worked 60hrs a week. Hell i just got used to it. If i get off in 8 hrs it feels like i am cheating the company going home early.

I work6 days a week, every week. If Sunday is going to be doubletime, I will take it. I am so used to it that when I do get a rare weekend off, only a couple in the last year, it seems like I have to much time on my hands. I worked 7 days a week years ago with 2 jobs. I was routinely getting to50 hours by Wednesday and had several days to go before the week "ended". One day soon, I will go back to 5 days a week and not know what to do with all the time. But even with all that I still ride, do things with the family, watch tv and surf the 'net.
