WHAT THE HELL! Are you kidding me? at first she told me $100..which i thought was steep, but I was willing to pay it to save me alot of work. Now we are up to friggen $375.00 for 2 SIMPLE RACING STRIPES! i can do it myself for $50.00 its just lining them up will be a pain. But there is no way im paying someone that much. What is the world coming to.

Were they vinyl stripes? I'm sure D2 could make you some cheaper, if you can get a hold of him. If not, I know someone else, just let me know if you are interested.

you have no idea how tempted i am to spray paint the part i need black. i used spray paint on my rims and they look like they came that way. Im pretty handy with a spray can. but i dont know if i want to try it on this car.

The cheap way would be vinyl, and yeah, lining them up is going to be a HUGE pain in the ***.......which is probably why the labor is so high on your estimate. It takes a LOT of effort to make sure they're lined up and bubble-free.......and if you do it yourself, you are going to QUICKLY find out why they charge so much to do it. I though vinyl graphics was easy until you start doing large scale jobs (like racing stripes).

Yes, you can do it yourself for a lot less money. But you better be patient, have a lot of extra vinyl for mistakes, and be prepared to get very frustrated.

 

^ You can use water/soap too. Spray the application area before and it will allow you to play around with it and line it up right. Although, you have to take more time to smooth it out and get all the air bubbles out.

 

think bout it though, if your gettin the whole car done then they gotta line up the stripes, sand that biatch down, primer, paint....crap takes a min. now if she is just puttin on vinyl stripes, thats a load of dough for puttin on a couple of stickers imo.
