Hate to say it......but guys like this just make it worse [:-]

If ran an insurance company..I would struggle even insuring these things. Too many young guys crashing these days. Hopefully the accident rate goes down and we all enjoy lower rates someday [&o]
How does this vid make it worse? Everyone keeps bashing these guys but I didn't see any accidents or police anywhere near them. To me these guys looked like they knew how to ride bikes and its the newbies that have the wrecks that make insurance go up.
This was a joke RCR right?
god i hope so.. lol..

I'm going to go ahead and threadjack, but I think its worth noting here. Fishfryer, that is amazing. I can only aspire to have such financial prowess as to be able to buy a house without a mortgage. As it stands I'll be graduating from college soon and am completely debt free while having a vehicle with around 30,000 miles on it and my 94 cbr. At this point I pay into a Roth IRA, which I will be able to use some of for a down payment on a house without penalty. Maybe that would be a good investment idea for schmidt? I'm not familiar with S&P funds and international funds.

and to bring things back on topic. I'll be 22 this week and I have been researching insurance costs. For me, with the cheapest level of liability and a $500 deductible comp and collision, Foremost Insurance quoted me ~$275 and outfits like Progressive and Geico around $325. But I have a clean record (one speeding ticket over 3 years ago).

If I were you Schmidt I'd hang it up until those tickets come off your record and/or you turn 21(I think I remember that you're younger than me) thats when my rates dropped quite a bit. Sucks but thats life. It's a total downer but there's several better uses for that much money that you may need a lot worse for in the not too distant future. Good luck.

Okay, who rides without insurance?

I don't...
-Don't live in a big city
-bikes aren't worth compensation
-cost of liability insurance is worth valuse of bikes in 2 years

So go ahead and blast away

No joke ( for above replies)

I have full coverage and will always have full coverage. Too many people like to sue you for everything and milk the system for pain and suffering for a scratch.

I believe that's what you meant to say.

I'm just going to say 2 things.... I hope you have medical insurance...and part of the responsibility with riding is being able to afford Liability at minimum.

Hey Martin_D,

Have you looked into State Farm or Progressive? ... with a clean record that sounds absurd!

I saw that vid yesterday. Those guys, no matter how 'good' they are or think they are, will be a statistic shortly. You think b/c Rossi or Hayden can ride it prevents a car from switching lanes in front of them without them being able to react? At those speeds it only takes .00001 of a second.

I'm 22, full coverage with a $500 deductible through American Modern and pay $331/yr. That covers $1000 gear, $3000 accessories, uninsured motorists, bodily injury, the works. I've had a few accidents and two tickets, but I took DD and my accidents were over 3 years ago. My premium dropped from $447/yr to $331/yr when I renewed.

Wow!?!.... If you see nothing wrong with that video, when they go down...and they Will, you can let them file an insurance claim with your company.
