Welcome to the forum.
$2k is slightly overpriced. $1,715 is KBB in excellent condition...we're talking pristine. Original condition w/ avg miles, well taken care of, & full maintenance records would count for a lot & add a little perceived value. Prices can vary widely from area to area but the book value will remain constant. If you really like the bike & still want it at that price, just keep the aforementioned in mind.
F3's are great bikes w/a long history of being reliable. Of course, that assumes that they've been well maintained & cared for.
To that, I'd recommend that if you don't know how to properly inspect a bike for purchase - that you have the seller meet you at a Honda shop for a pre-purchase inspection. You'll pay for it but it will be peace of mind that what you're buying is good to go. If you don't do that, at least take someone w/ you that knows how to inspect bikes. Its always good to have another pair of eyes to look things over too.

Thanks guys! I live an hour from chicago..and i see these bikes going for more then this one, in half the condition this one is in. Theres one selling for 1800,and has a problem with 2nd gear and said the fix would be around 500ish..This bike i have personally been on, and enjoyed it. Sounds to me like he has done everything to keep it running well(for winter) hes putting in the necessary fluids/carb cleaner to keep her in well running order. He also said he's been telling everyone else 2500 but me,2000..not sure why but can't complain with that. I know he paid 3000 maybe a year or 2 ago, and like any other seller, they want to make back what they paid(doesn't usually happen) I will check with a few guy's i know to have the bike checked out so we know everythings in great working order.

first off, big welcome to CBRF
second, it seams that the bike is in a great shape, i wish that pic was little lighter. but from what i see with that kind of millage and the location, i would pay $1500- 1800 for that bike. the northern states are crazy on the prices, for some reason in the middle of the winter the bikes still hold their prices.
i hope he can come down on the price for you some. good luck.
third, i have 98 f3 and went to the garage to work on my car in about 24 F* yesterday and thought that i would let her run for a while. she started with the first crank after sitting there for few weeks.
i think f3s are great bikes. and a lot simpler to work on that fuel injected. IMO.

yeah other then that little spot on the body, everything looks in great shape..im not too sure why bikes stay epxesnive in a state that bikes are only seasonal. as far as getting him down in cash..it's gonna be pretty tough since we talked and said he was gonna give it to me for 2..maybe if i flash him the money, he will bite.
