Wavin Hello to ya from Auburn Ca
Hows it going Y'all,
I am a fairly new CBR owner, but have been riding since the 80's. In all those years of riding I had never rode a sport bike more than half a block until the end of last year. A friend of mine had bought an 01 CBR 600 F4i and kept on telling me it was calling my name, so one day near the end of last year I took him up on it. I rode it about 170 miles in the mountains that day and I gotta tell ya, when I stopped to fuel up I was just about physically stuck on that bike, but what a ride. Below is a pic of me right before I left for the ride, (sorry bout the poor quality) and here is where the story of how I got my CBR starts.
I brought the bike back safe and sound and my pal took it out the next day on Mosquito Ridge rd in Foresthill and on his way back out of the canyon lost control and slammed into the embankment. He ended up in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks and the bike in a tow yard in pieces, LOTS OF PIECES. After 2 1/2 days I offered to get it out so that it wouldn't keep racking up $$$ in the yard. When he got released from the hospital he asked me if I would like the $520 or the title. Well I'm a mechanic by profession and I had been looking it over for a couple weeks and was thinkin "I could fix that", and so begins my CBR project.
So to cut down on txt here I am just going to post a few pics below to show some of the progress. If ya have any questions feel free to ask.

This last pic is a mock up, but it was assembled enough to ride it to work.

As of right now most of the prep is done for paint and all the body parts are at the paint shop.
