Default Soon to be owner new member!

Hello all.. Very excited. I am 25 and out of Charlotte NC and this will be my second “sport bike”.. but really my first prized possession bike!! I recently parted ways with my old katana project bike which is helping paying for a 2004 CBR 600 F4i. A guy I work with is the second owner who is still close with the original owner. It has 30k miles which he put 2/3 on.. This was was naturally was my first concern. I first learned of the bike in late july/august of last year and have literally been researching on ever since. I am a car guy and after rebuilding the katana from head to toe, owning several dirt bikes and toys.. I feel pretty comfortable in my final, educated, decision to buy it for $2,600.. Hopefully $2,400 if he budges. It does need a CCT which I’ve learned is the trend with these bikes. It was serviced before parked last fall before parked with newer tires, scorpion exhaust, wind screen, sliders, bar ends and a beautiful bananna seat ..

Ah well, im 6'6 so it will give me some room to stretch.

I already appreciate insight to come. Any advice and immediate service tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Welcome! This is a great site and I think you'll like it. Good look on the buy (I wouldn't trade my f4i for anything and it's got 50k-er maybe I would trade it for a triumph or a ducati so I could sell it and buy my bike back....)

I'm actually looking to relocate that way before too long. You might be able to help me out with some info-Check out my thread (East coat members) in off topic!

I am from North Carolina is a great place. I will definantly check out the thread. I've got a lot of reading ahead of me lol. Need to dig up some info on a "spring service" or quick tune through to makes sure it is ready to go!

Default Finally here!

Well I finally got it today! 2004 F4i with 30k miles. Brand new tires, wind scree, grips, scorpion exhaust, fender eliminator etc. Small scuff on left side from a 10mph or so slide out but other than that its in exellent shape!

Drained old gas, put new gas in with a little seafoam. Changing oil and filter tomorrow then hitting the street for a ride!

looks great! Did you get the grab bar too? Looks like the PO removed it.
