Soon to be new rider
Hello all, I'm from San Antonio Texas and looking into getting my first bike. I currently daily drive a Subaru impreza WRX, but my daily commute to school and work has extended recently and a bike seems practical, and extremely fun. Learned to ride on a friends 09 Ninja 650r, which I know is a good starter bike but I'm looking for something a bit more. I found a local dealer selling a 06 CBR600f4i for what seems to be a good price. Wondering if any other f4i riders out there had any suggestions as to whether or not this is a good first bike and opinions on it.
It's a good bike. I have a 95 f3 but the f4i's are very nice. They are also fuel injected unlike order bikes which is great cause you don't have annoying problems like you can tend to get with carbs. I started riding on a 250 ninja but I wish I had started on a 600. Go for the f4i. You won't regret it. Just remember to be careful. There are lots of stupid people who shouldn't be driving cars, but unfortunately they do. Have fun and enjoy your new bike but be very careful and very cautious until you get really good at basic riding skills. Have fun!
Thanks for all the welcomes guys. I still have not bought the bike despite my eagerness about it. I only saw one cosmetic smudge on the bike that's making me iffy on it. I love the look of the bike and it has low miles for an 06, just not sure how much I would be looking at to get the problem fixed. As I'm new bikes I do not know all the terms for pieces on the bike so I snapped a pic and pointed out what I'm talking about.

So how much about would it cost to fix? And how much should I knock off my offer price if you were in my shoes

wow, that's strange. usually with chipped farings you'll see a lot of rash on what remains. i wouldn't even bother fixing it if you end up with it. enjoy the "character" that it gives.
but i would knock off some money from it. as you'll see with bikes, they do come with imperfections just like a car. considering it's not that major, only cosmetic, and you only notice it when you're really looking at the bike - i'd just leave it and try to get as much money off of it as you can.
good luck, but don't be afraid to walk away.
welcome to CBRF!
