Well guys I'm new to this board and the whole street bike scene but i'm definately excited about it. My name is Trent and i live in a suburb of Memphis, TN in Olive Branch, MS. I am getting an 05 cbr600rr monday (hints the username) and i'm really excited about it. I just turned 18 so it is my first bike but i have been riding dirt bikes for about 3-4 years now so i'm pretty comfortable on bikes i'm just worried about the other morons out there. Any helpful hints you guys have or suggestions or questions or whatever just let me know. And if anyone is in my general area and wants to cruise sometime I'll definately be down. I've been reading alot on the forum before buying and i was a big gixer fan myself but everything i've read has really leaned me to the hondas. So if i read your posts thanks.

Trent

Welcome to the forum. Riding on the street is a different world than dirt, most of here started on dirt.

I'm sure you'll be fine. The best tip is to ride within your limits and push them only slightly. Our bikes get up to speed fast without you knowing it. Use the PM feature and ask me all of the questions you likes.

Even though you have been riding dirt for awhile, I suggest taking a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Course. It should lower your insurance and give you some more time to practice on a course. Welcome and enjoy!

Hey guys i got some pics of the bike with my friends 350Z we went and cruised on the back roads for a while tonight and i ended up putting about 70 miles on the bike. But i drove it off the lot and did just fine so i'll prolly just drive around a bit more before i start going farther away and stuff but check out these pictures.

Nice, I think those vehicles go great together. To bad both of them aren't yours.

You said you both went cruising on some back roads. Were you on the bike and your friend driving the car?
