Hi , does the crack run into the crankcase, if the bike has been laid down there could be other problems, if he is willing to swap his bike for yours be aware, have you got any photos of the crack?

How good of shape is your f3 in?

You said there is a crack behind the stator cover in the case. That would be a no way for me... unless it was almost free.

Agree with Demon. I think there's a reason the other person wants to trade.

Save your money and buy a proper unscathed genuine bike, it’ll end up costing so much to put it right, you’ll wish you hadn’t bothered.

Sounds like quite a drop. I would draw the line at cosmetics only personally.

no photos I'm going to look at it today . The guy isn't very mechanically inclined who owns it and he just wants a running bike cuz the 929 is sitting in the shop . The guy laid it down busted the stator cover and other than that he said it's just cosmetic but he doesn't have a truck to go get it from the shop and the shop is been screwing him around. Kind of sounds like to me that the shop is trying to get him for his bike . I'll include a picture

It all seems to be getting a it involved, why hasn't the owner had it fixed and rode it home, that way you know its roadworthy, looks like the shop will be wanting some money before they let it go , try not and get caught out with someone else's baggage
