Also if the bike is stock height or not. Could be you're the victim of SPO (Short Previous Owner).

Previous owner of my bike was 5' 2". She lowered the bike so she wouldn't need a stepladder at lights. I'm 5' 10" (11" according to docs). Could damn near drag a knee with the bike on the kickstand

Quick answer based on what you have told us ..Wear high heals ...
LMAO!!!! Nice one, Steve....

Welcome to the forums, cbrman!! Nice lookin' classic 1000F you've got there! It doesn't look like it's sitting too low to me from the pic. Doesn't look lowered, really.... but maybe a little bit??
I can understand it feeling strange if you're new to the bike. I'm just about 6'3" and every time I switch bikes, it feels low.
BTW, swing by the Hurricane section and say hello. We're a fun bunch, and with a noob post like this one, I'd venture to say you are too.....

raising your bike isnt the answer to your problems as it will not give you more leg room.

Steve nailed it on the head, just when you are gonna have you 'box' loaded up adjust the preload to max.
