Default Question about graduating to a bigger engine mb

As you may guess I am a new member and rider. I have been riding about 8 months, clocked about 2.5k miles. I feel comfortable with my 250r generally, but on the highway I am buzzing at 7000 rpm. I wonder if I should move up to a 500 class. Any general advice on this?

Welcome!
7000 is not that high for these bikes.
What does yours redline at?

There won't be a huge difference between the 250 and 500 on the highway. TBH, I'm surprised you're not at a higher rpm considering it'll top out around 100-110.
