Default Old Fart in Kansas City

Hi guys!

Just getting back into riding after my poor neglected 1991 CBR600 F2 sat for close to 10 years. As a caretaker for my folks, life just got in the way and the bike simply sat. Major changes around here this summer and I once again yearned to get riding again, so I embarked on a carb and tank cleaning and she's humming again. I'll upload a pic of my bike later, but here's what it looked like stock:

1991 CBR600 F2 Ross White (web pic)

Been riding for 40+ years, mostly Honda's, with the occasional Suzuki and Kawi thrown in for flavor.

First Bike (and smallest): 1971 Honda CB100. I still remember shifting from 1st to 2nd for the first time.
Most Surprising: 1972 Suzuki 250 Hustler (dubbed 'The Blue Streak' due to the trail left behind from the exhaust when dusting the local English twins that were so common around here in the mid-70's). Loved that noisy sucker.
Biggest Bike: 1975 Kawasaki Z1B. Smooth. Powerful. Stolen from work parking lot years ago. I cried.
Current Ride: See pic above. 16,000mi. Mine's stock except for Two Brothers exhaust and Lockhart windscreen (and a seat cover that matches the paint job). It's a much better bike than I am rider, which prolly applies to most folks riding sportbikes.
Me: Wrenching on cars and bikes for as long as I can remember. Worked for a Chevy dealer for a while and went back to school, earning a EET degree and an IT degree. Currently doing repair and restoration on old electronic gear, and building/repairing the occasional computer for friends and family. Got a 1969 Jeepster Commando in the garage that's been the "Never Ending Project™".

I appreciate ya'all allowing me to intrude on your world, and I'll be poking around the forums for a bit to learn a thing or two. I'll also see what I can do to reign in my verbosity.

Welcome to the forums! The F2's sure are good looking bikes. But it's not like I'm biased or anything...

Not sure I want to classify myself as an "old" fart...but I'm quickly approaching that block in my mirror.
Welcome. I understand that caretaker deal and things getting put aside while "life" pushes forward.
Congrats on getting it back up and out running.

Thanks for the welcome. Apparently, I'm not the only elder here. Note the 'related topics' when I open the thread.

There is further evidence here you honour

The numbers seem to be skewed toward the 40+ end of the scale.
