Default NOOB in PHX,az

Whats up all.
I finally got a real bike.....01 929 and am loving every minute of it.
I had 2 quads and rode a few dirt bikes in the past.
My buddy was getting rid of his 929 and allowed me to make payments...how seat is that.
I took some classes and did whole getting a feel for the bike in the parking lot across the street as the instructors suggested...I know, but to be honest it scareds the poo out of me for a while.
Been riding it now fro about 6 weeks every day and still have no idea how quick or how fast it will go.
Plan on getting a suit here after this season and getting out to the track.
I really want to learn how to ride proper and not figure it out on the road...got a kids and a ...well got kids. Ok iI have a loving wife. Sorry hun.
Till then I take little blasts from time to time when there aren't hardly any cars on the road. Only had it to about 120-130mph and that is pletty good for now.
Faverite ride so far is a place called Yarnell Hill, north of Wickenburg.
It is a short run up and down the hill, but my brother-and-law go up and down as many times as we are up to and the ride home.
Been in the rain now a few times and yes it does rain in Arizona.

Any one in the Phx area want to ride hit me up. Keep in mind that I am still a NOOB, but I love to ride.

We are planning a ride through Oak Creeck Canyon in a few months and then the back road to Jorome shortly after.

Hi & welcome to CBRF!
As you've found out the 929 is quite the machine....too much for a NOOBIE imho.
But you have the bike and it sounds like you repsect it enough at this point, which is a good thing.
Take baby steps and you'll get the hang of it soon enough.
Learning to ride a street bike would be a lot easier on a smaller, less powerful machine like a250/500...even a early CBR600 would even work.
Keep your wits about you and you'll do fine
BTW post some pics of your 929
Have fun & ride safe

As you already know, the 929 is a heck of a machine. Hope you're enjoying it!

REALLY fast bike. Might want to keep it significantly under 130MPH for now until you get a hang of it. But props on the bike, very nice choice. Be careful!

Gotta love the (nearly) year-round riding weather here in Phoenix. What part you call home?

Yarnell Hill is an awesome ride. Canyon Lake is really fun to, as well as South mountain.

Congrats on the new CBR

Gear up and ride safe!!

Yep absulutely love it.

Been riding nearly everyday; rain or shine.
Thank you for all the posts.

I will see if I can get some pics up.
Bike is down at the moment, but new parts are on the way

I have been real busy lately.
Working on getting my N/A MR2 ready to sell....Hate to get rid of it, but I have two and the wife is telling me it is time for some buget cuts.
So I am now sacrificy teh N/A to KEEP THE BIKE.....no way could my MR2 compare to joy and quikeness of the bike.
