Not a fan of how the GSX-R's look. I prefer the styling of the CBR600's and the Yamaha R6.

I must say, welcome first!

Never say you want to learn on a "small bike like a 600"

Its the rider. i have a friend who bought a 1000 for first bike and he is doing great. i have also had friend purchase ninja 250 and can't stop breaking bones because of crashing it. its all about the maturity of the rider. my speed on my 06RR was "indicated on led" 173mph.

I am not saying i went 173, but i know I was around 160mph. pretty FAST for a small bike??? dont you think.

MOTOGP bikes are 800cc bikes. I wouldn't call them smaller than the yamahaR1s.

Just need to know, its the driver and how the driver uses his skill and knowledge to handle SAID bike!

good luck bro! Get the bike you are going to be happiest with! peace

Welcome to the site, bruthu. A 600 has a lot of whoop *** in it, so that ismore thanenough to start! I wouldn't recomend anything more thatn that. Good luck on your purchase, and keep us posted. Glad to have you here.
