Default Newby from GA

Hello everyone, deathknight here from Georgia, just introducing myself.

Been riding for about ten months now, on a 2004 F4i (first bike). She's been a project from the start, since I've had a couple small spills. Currently in my garage awaiting a new stator cover, left peg, and fairing set (Second time doing this stator repair!!!!).

Currently:

Decent side shot:

I plan on taking her to the track starting around March, and have heard good things about JenningsGP and Little Taladega. Between now and then I plan on chipping it and adding a shorty exhaust, adding a Targa rear cowl, installing frame sliders, and of course deciding on and purchasing a new set of fairings.

Cheers!

Not to be preachy - but a couple of spills and you're thinking of starting the track??

I'd probably do a MSF instead of the track and get some more time under your belt.

Yeah, I understand that. I am doing track training days at JenningsGP for my first few times before I do anything open or higher level, believe me. My spills have been completely preventable both times - One was an extremely amateur wheelie gone wrong (I was new to the bike, riding, and that cocky feeling) and the other was black ice (I am a year round rider).

Also, I am sick of opening up the throttle on backroads only to encounter gravel, cracks, tree roots, other cars, police, grease, water, and idiot squids.

I did the MSF course before I ever looked at buying a bike, too! Did the course and bought my gear before I hit the pavement.

Got my parts in today so I'll be on the road within the week! Gotta love GA weather too, sunny and beautiful the first of the year, rainy as hell and cold the next!

Hi & welcome aboard deathknight.
Glad to hear you've taken the MSF course and got your gear too!
One of the best ways to really learn how to control your bike is doing it on the track.
Obviously youd be in the Novice group and you just ride at a pace where you are comfortable.
If you have any ?s on your bike, check us out in the F4i forum.
Ride safe and enjoy the forum
