Default Newbie from SoCal

Hey guys and gals,

Name is Matt, I just moved to SoCal. I came from WA state and could never justify buying a street bike which has been a dream of mine most of my life. I am 31, Married, with 2 kids. I have grown up on dirt bikes since the age 9 and currently have an 04 WR450F. This christmas I finally achieved that dream and bought an 04 CBR 600F4i. As my past has served well on the learning curve I have found street riding to be a bit different but I am in love! I took the riders safety course as it came highly recommended by veteran riders and was well worth the money as I did learn a few things from it. Anyway I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself as I try to avoid being that guy that comes to the forums only when I need help. My bike is running great and is stock other than a yoshimura exhaust, here is a pic I took the night I got it.

Cheers and ride safe!

Matt

Welcome.
Socal here as well, around hwy 74 somewhere. Where abouts are you? Many great roads to ride with usually great weather, just be cautious around the natives.

That's my home turf too!
I'm out on the 79, 76, and 74 all the time. You're welcome to join me sometime if you want.

I would love to get together sometime to ride! I am still fairly new so I am always looking for ways to improve. I think the most intimidating difference is the amount of lean you can imply on these bikes while corning. I still corner like a grandma, heh. I am open to critisizm and tips. Also if anyone has suggestions for must have mods for these bikes I am all ears. I don't necessarily need some crazy track bike as I use it as a daily for commuting.

Nice bike! Yeah, I have been riding for many years as well and last year I took the riders course here in Ohio. I have to say, I learned a thing or two, but I can tell it is bennificial to non experienced riders. I reccomend this class to all of our new members. Welcome to the forum!
