Default newbie from nc

I am very new to these bikes. I traded my hotrod for a 1998 900rr for my son to ride when he gets back from Iraq. I have one very stupid question...When checking the oil should i see it or what, My bike and every bike I have owned has a dipstick, this thing only has a cap ypu unscrew no stick on it, so forgive me but i need to know. Thanks guys and gals

Glad you got your answer, bud, and welcome to CBRF!
Sight glass?

Your son is a lucky guy to have a dad like you.
Take care, and when you see him, thank him for his service.

Thanks, I will tell him. I am the lucky one to have a son that turned out so well to spite all the wrong roads he could have taken.

Glad to hear you solved your own question. The search feature is pretty good on the site. Every time I think I'm being too specific with my search I usually find the answer I'm looking for.

So give us the skinny on what kind of hotrod you got rid of? I believe he said it was a Mustang. Kudos to you for your gift and also to him for his service.

So does Dad get to take "test-rides" until his soldier returns?

We are in Wilson 45 minutes southeast of Raleigh. Yeah I got rid of my mustang, 1987 gt converted to carb (no ecm) 750 dual line holley on a weiand intake, msd 6al box with msd coil dizzy and wires, bbk headers with full aftermarket exhaust, e303 cam, 410 rearend and a 150 shot of nos. Yes I get to ride it around a little till he gets back but it will be very little cause its really not my style, I like the comfort my vtx 1800 has.
