Newbie....
Greetings,
I decided to sign up on this website as I have fallen in lust with the White 07 CBR 600RR.
This started all the way back in early may of 07 and walked into the local cycle dealership. I was looking at a beginner bike spoke to a sales man and tried to get my bearings on what I should get.
A few weeks later I ended up speaking to my neighbor, since he was the general sales manager for the cycle dealership. he asked me what bike I was looking into and I told him a Kawasaki Ninja 650R. He said it was a good bike for a beginner, but asked me what type of driving I was planning on driving locally or doing highway. I told him I would love to drive down to the shore (115 miles) and after that point he suggested I take a look at 600cc 4cyl bikes.
I ended up going back to the dealership and sitting on the 600cc 4cyl bikes. I ended up enjoying sitting on the cbr600rr the best and the pearl white was dam sweet.
As far as my experiance with motorcycles, I've ridden friend's dirt bikes when I was younger and my neighbor lets me ride his YZF-R6 around the neighborhood and parking lots to get used to a super sport bike.
So hopefully by the end of March I shall find my white 07 out there. Till then I am just here to watch listen and learn

Take your MSF course and make gear part of your original investment into the bike. If you don't gear up, you will pay. Other than that, be careful. One wrong decision may not give you the chance to look back and say "boy, that was stupid." Respect the machine. Welcome to the site.

Just keep it slow for a long time and enjoy. Buy your buddy a case of beer, freinds like that are rare.

Welcome to the site. Make sure you buy a bike that you feel you are comfortable riding. Looks aren't always everything. The RR may not be the easiest bike to learn on. Be safe out there.

I belive riding my neighbors YZF-R6 will give me a good starting point for my 600RR.

That is great you have someone that will trust you with his bike. Riding in parking lots will teach you alot, But you will need thousands of miles on that bike to be able to handle some of the problems you will get into when you get on the road.

Just so you know, a bike you just sit on at a dealer will feel a lot different once you start actually riding it around.

At that point when my friend took me to sit on bikes I had no idea what the difference was between a F4i and an RR was. All i knew was that I should stay away from the 1000cc bikes when we were finding out what I felt was more of a natural feel for me in a proper posotion while sitting on the bike. Perhaps in the next week or two on a saturday I'll have to stop by the dealership and re-check with my friend.
We've been through countless cases while working on his Datsun 1600 Fair Lady for a restoration.
I just felt that while on the 600RR the proper seating was much more natural then F4i was.
