Please can anyone tell me how to remove the ugly rear number plate bracket / fender so i can fit a tail tidy...

Welcome to CBRF Timmy!! It looks like you got your image posting problem solved. As much as I love a good looking bum, do you have any pics of her from another angle. I love to see bikes in yellow, and yours real purdy.

Do a search for tail modifications and I'm sure you'll find something to clean up the back of your bike. Pity there nothing you can do about that big yellow billboard you Brits call a license plate.
