Default new to sport bikes

Hi i am brandon im 17. i Dont have a CBR yet but willbe getting one soon as i just got a job.

i do however drive a honda civic and a 2006 Crf450R

I was wondering since i have been riding dirtbikes since i was 3 if this would help with streetbike riding and if i could handle a 600 or maybe and F4i

sure a cbr is a different animal then my 450 but at 50hp and 230lb wet it should help some right?

thanks

Riding a dirtbike will help for the knowledge of how to balance and clutching right but riding on dirt vs the street with cars everywhere is 2 different things.
Take the MSF course!!
As for your age and the bike you want definitely look into insurance BEFORE you look into getting a bike.
As you have no motorcycle experience, minimum driving experience and are a teenager.
You may be paying more a year for insurance then your bike is worth.
Anyhow Welcome, good luck in finding a bike and stay safe.

Welcome aboard.

Riding dirt will absolutely help you on the street. I grew up riding dirt & motocross. Many of the lessons learned from that background will help you. However, riding sport bikes has its own required skills.

Approach street riding in a mature responsible way...& it will pay you dividends throughout the rest of your life. As jeffjones has already mentioned, take the MSF Course. Be willing to listen & learn. As well as being very beneficial to practical riding exercises, upon completion you'll have the riding portion of your motorcycle license out of the way (recognized by the DMV). Your MSF certificate will also get you a discount on your motorcycle insurance.

Good luck.
