thanks guys if you have any suggestions on what to do and what not to do or recommendations on gear please let me know. I'm looking for a new jacket and I live in Texas so the summers here get pretty brutal and would need something light that breathes extremely well.

Check out our Riding Gear section for some ideas.

Leather jackets w/ full CE armor offer the best protection. Although I have a textile w/ full CE, I routinely (almost exclusively) use my leather jacket. If I'm riding twisties - I'm always wearing leather (jacket & pants). The textile only comes out for short around town errands in the dead of summer.

You want some *over-the-ankle* boots. They don't have to be uber-expensive, just need something that will protect your ankle. If you can afford it tho, riding specific boots are excellent to have. They provide more protections. You can get 'touring' or more race-specific boots like Sidi Vertigo. I have both types but find myself wearing my Sidis more often.

My recommendation for gloves are the *gauntlet* style that extend over the wrist. If you go down, they will provide more protection.

You don't have to buy new expensive gear if your budget won't allow it. There are often good deals on used gear on eb*y & CL. I wouldn't buy a used helmet tho.

Welcome...mesh with full armor breathe air best...for the HOT days I'll go with my Joe Rocket mesh armor...for cooler temp...leather of course.

Don't forget gloves, boots, pants, and I even wear the Icon field armor boxer underneath so I buy my pant sized up...

Make sure comfortable fit....

First of welcome and thats a hell of a stunning bike

1st thing i would do if i was you is get a restrictor fitted to bike because you dont want to crash and burn bike time as it will cost you a small fortune to repair / replace bike

My 1st big bike was a jellymould ( first cbr6) and bought that instead of a blade in case i crashed and burned and it took me 3 years until i broke a lever on handle bars.

I certainly learnt from that bike and it still kept going with out much or none repair work being done and yes it was full power and yes i carried a spare pair of pants with me lol.

As for using same name for everything all someone has to do is google your name and they can find out lots about yourself so best to use different name now and then
